This workshop will be a technical consultation with representatives from SPC countries currently involved in tilapia aquaculture and resource persons from private sector and development agencies.
.. The goal of this workshop will be to develop future strategies for tilapia aquaculture in SPC member countries and territories to meet food and trade requirements.
.. The workshop objectives are to:
o share experiences from within the region, and from outside (Asia, Africa, South America), to identify constraints;
o identify the most appropriate project models and development pathways for tilapia aquaculture under Pacific island environmental and social conditions, and;
o establish a regional road-map for sustainable development of ilapia aquaculture in the Pacific. |
