World Fish Center (ICLARM), Pacific Office

  • Aquaculture interests:
The WorldFish Center, previously known as the International Centre for Living Aquatic Resources Management (ICLARM), is one of the few international organisations in the region that is engaged in long-term applied research in aquaculture. Since 1986, USD5 million has been invested in its research centre in the Solomon Islands. In the past, scientists have undertaken projects with giant clams, cultured pearls, bech-de-mer, aquarium fish and trochus. The new regional office for the Pacific is based in New Caledonia, hosted at the SPC.
