Abstract: This document is a product of the 1st SPC Asia-Pacific Marine Finfish Aquaculture Workshop held in Noumea, New Caledonia in December 2007. The workshop involved the participation of representatives from Pacific countries and territories involved in marine finfish aquaculture activities coming from both the private sector and government departments. International and regional organisations were present and actively contributed to the workshop. The Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) and a senior technical officer from the Northern Fisheries Centre (NFC) in Cairns also shared their expertise on marine finfish aquaculture development in their country. This report was compiled with ongoing assistance from the Service de la Pêche (SPE) in French Polynesia, one of the Pacific countries where marine finfish aquaculture is most active and where the sector shows much promises.
